Remember when you pointed out that a player in my FS has no mana buildings? Still true and #5 in rankings on Elcysandir. He always scores high in tournaments so he has a stockpile of spells.

I think the pure DA build is very hard for non-spenders though. Sure you might get enough spells with a level 5 MA and 5K tournament score, but I don't think viable without diamonds.
You are probably right. I do know that he uses his time boosters to get more troops. I had never even thought about that. Other than that I would feel rude asking how much spend it takes.
That's reason 1A why I'd never level BTG. At some point you hit end-game, and then that AW sits idle for 2-4 months waiting for each chapter.Then what would you do with that BTG?
KP has always been very easy for me mostly because I'm a lazy mapper. When amuni released I was able to do the first dozen techs no problem by clearing 40 provinces and buying a few with goods/coins.I don't agree with Soggy on my city being idle between guestraces though. I'm stocking up on goods needed to buy KPs to be able to quickly unlock the first few techs so I can build the needed special buildings asap.
I think after I finish Amuni I may go truly idle and come back to the game for chapter 14....but I thought I'd do that between 12&13 too, so we'll see.

Martial Monastery/Sanctuary – if you’re a fighter, then it’s a “must have” AW. If you’re not, it’s still good because it’s better than any regular culture building.
The Sanctuary/Monastery health benefits apply to provinces AND tournaments, making it an essential AW for anyone who fights. The longer your troops last, the less you have to rebuild to recover so you can sustain a good tourney average from week to week.I (auto)fight tourneys and cater provinces (yes, I know, that's back-assward). Apparently, there's some ambiguity around whether troop buffs work in tourney. Some players have stated that the buffs may ONLY work in provinces. I'd like to put up Monasteries in all 5 of my towns now that the culture pain is resolved for a while. Can you, or anyone else, provide a definitive answer as to whether the health buff applies to tourney fights?

This may change based on 2 major factors: 1: How many buffs you get per day from your FS, and 2: Do you need mana? I loved the WT CL combo right up until woodelves where I had to build so many Weeping Willows for mana that I had 170% culture bonus with zero FS buffs.g. culture bonus matters to me, so I see the CL and Watchtower as a necessary
Eventually, you should reach a point where your barracks is at max level, and you have enough SSS/bulkwark levels and armories that your queue lasts overnight. At that point, the needles is the best way to improve your military production.I came to the same conclusion about the Needles: I don't need to buff ONE troop type that isn't used all that often, nor do I need to create more idle time while I sleep.
