Chapter 20, The Power of Music - Discussion

Does anyone know if one can complete CH.20 without upgrading the Harmony Grove to lvl. 4? The only thing left on the tech tree are the two AWs. Thanks.
 
The AWs research is required for chapter 21. If you have a high enough leveled Vortex of Storage (or use diamonds) you can have all the research done to get through and then skip the quests that require a level 4 portal and its productions.

I just reached the end of chapter 20 research,, and unlocked the diamond chest,, My problem is that I have this quest to produce a 'Stylish Cloak' in the 'Ritual of Liberation Quest',, No clue on what I am supposed to do,,, Any help will be appreciated,,

I just reached the end of chapter 20 research,, and unlocked the diamond chest,, My problem is that I have this quest to produce a 'Stylish Cloak' in the 'Ritual of Liberation Quest',, No clue on what I am supposed to do,,, Any help will be appreciated,,
 
working on power of music, trying to upgrade grove to lvl 4, have the space to expand but it does not accept that I have 3 of each ensemble, though I do, what am I missing?

Once you do the upgrade, you are no longer required to have the Ensembles. I sold them off and brough my Makers back out of storage.

so do I need the 3 (of each type) I built for lvl4 upgrade & the other 3 for lvl 2 & 3 so 18 in total?
 
Hello all, I'm on quest 65/88. I've read on iDavis that you don't have to build 6 of each of the Ensembles if you get your Vortex to 14, ( which I do ). You won't be able to finish the Quests though. I've always finished the quests, and was wondering how do you finish the chapter without finishing all of the quests? Building 6 of each would take a ton of room. Thanks for your help!

After you've finished the chapter and you've completed the first research of chapter 21, all chapterquests become declinable. If you do not want to build 6 of each ensemble, you'll get stuck at quest #73 I think. Decline that one when you're in chapter 21, and see what you can and want to do of the quests #74 and up. Do NOT sell any stuff before you're asked to though, there are some quests with good rewards after #73.
The chapter will count as finished when you've done all research, the quests have nothing to do with it.

Just read through some of this thread. Found this, thank you. I think I will go this route.

I've read through the Wiki and this whole discussion, but just wanted to clarify a few things while planning my layouts. If I use Portal Profits, the Ensembles are literally only necessary for upgrading the Portal, correct? So I could place them, upgrade the Portal, and then store them until I have to upgrade it again?

Similarly, it was asked once and answered upthread but I haven't seen it reiterated anywhere else, so I want to confirm: I can use unconnected level 1 manufactories to power the Makers, correct? That would make it immensely easier to lay out the settlement, if I don't have to get roads back in there for all the manufactories.

That's what I did ... skipped level 4 entirely because I had a level 23 vortex. 20 wasn't so bad, overall.
