Someone else here had said they checked and their mobile did not automatically update. When they did the update they got the eggs. I went and looked in my tablet, and it had not updated automatically either. Once I did the update, I got the eggs.

I uninstalled the app on my phone, and reinstalled it and the eggs appeared.

Like said earlier those big eggs are just decorative, your event will be things scattered around the outskirts of your city. My city has 13 of the decorative variety, also a giant tree at the top of my city's screen.

Don't have to do this

On Android, go to Google Play Store, loook for "My apps & games" under the drop down menu on the top left, and if there's an update available you'll see it

I believe a similar procedure exists on the Apple App Store for iOS users.
