I was by no means suggesting it would be a complete fix, or that it would make everyone happy, but I think the single change of not having it randomly refresh, but only refresh when you hit the daily, would be an enormous improvement over what is there for the majority of players
The fix we've been suggesting for the past few years in FoE is;
- put the 'refreash/shuffle' button at the bottom of the event screen.
- clicking refreash/shuffle' costs 10 stars (or 60 ribbons here in Elvenarland;)), and resets the whole board and then opens 1 randomly determined present.

So overall, the player would fully control the board on the initial daily 'start' and thereafter, and then the only random factor would be if/when using the shuffle option & determining the 1st gift being unwrapped on the newly reset board.

Even the new event buildings are blah, nothing that will require restoration spells cause they are not worth using on them. The main evolving building is T2 and some KP. Terrible for higher chapters, where is the sentient goods for us? Inno basically took out all the crappy recipes from the Magic Academy and made them filler prizes.

It was said on Beta that Inno wants to have rotating event types so get ready to see this style every winter or, very other event. I just don't see a future for any events, there has not been a type all year that we have enjoyed. Inno has not listened or made good choices. I have moved on to play other games, this one no longer has any strategy. And if this crap exists in other Inno games, I will never try another one.

Well, besides being (IMHO), beyond fugly as all gak, the evolving building for this event simply needs;
Ch1 - Ch8 = T2 goods + supplies
Ch9 - Ch12 = T2 goods + mana
Ch13 - Ch15 = T4 goods + seeds

The first 8 chapters really do need some boost to T2 production, as it seems to be the outright hardest to keep well stocked for all our growing demands... (ie; research + weekly tourneys + events + spire now)
Now, while the mid-late/late game players may not really *need* the T2 as much, adding in mana provides a decent add-on bonus to make it more attractive to build... as an expiring resource, and as demands keep growing & new ones being added to the game, (*cough*spire*cough*), there's never a point at which it's 'bad' per say to have some added mana generation.
And finally, for the Ch13 -> end players, they get the double bonus of their T4 AND some added seeds since those will be disappearing like mad for Ch15 players!

Inno is basically making *both* of their 'main' city builders 75% clones of each other... the BIG differences are seemingly going to be limited now to;
Elvenar = NO pvp function, more strait forward game play, focus on effective and efficient city building.
FoE = PvP function, more team-based play (Guild Expeditions, Guild Battlegrounds, Guild vs. Guild), less focus on city building strategy due to over-powered event buildings, Lv80+ Arcs and infinite level GB's removing any need for ever having a single 'regular' building beyond Iron Age!:p

Now as for how to fix the current clusterfeth that our events here have become? Quite simply;
FoE events:
1. Forge Bowl, Spring, Soccer = elvenar 3 chest system

2. Fall event = baking. (ie: you win various ingredients for completing quests, and then get a version of the 3 chest system (aka: recipes) with each recipe requiring 1-3 various ingredients.
The strategy here is that you can choose to go for the higher daily special% and/or the filler prizes you want, OR, focus on keeping your 5 ingredients as even as possible and 'bake' more recipes for more Grand Prizes. (including the evolving buildings + evolutions)

3. Archaeology/Halloween = 'totally not Minesweeper!' (ie: you do quests to gather scrolls/candy and then trade them for either individual or various sized 'tool packs', which you then you to explore the 'Creepy Tomb'/'Haunted Library'. (with sound effects - yay!:D)
This is THE MOST strategic event of either game!! It all comes down to how well you can maximize the efficiency of your 3 different tools. As you progress through the tomb/library, you uncover the various prize chests + the 'grand prize currency' (idols/potion bottles) + additional single tools.
You don't (and shouldn't!) uncover every single square, but rather, it's about trying to choose the most efficient path to maximize your tools... and again, while the prize chests are randomly scattered through out, you can always choose to leave undesirable prize chests 'hidden' instead of spending a tool/s to uncover them. ;)

4. Summer = Casino Wheel shared by your entire neighbourhood
Honestly, don't sweat this one, it just won't work given the insane differences between how the neighbour systems work across both games...
But basically, on the wheel are; 1x 'gold' prize (ie: daily special level reward), 2-3 'silver' prizes (ie: think 8-14hr time instant/33% PP/carting library/etc level rewards), 5-6 'green' prizes (ie: regular crap ala runeshards/small instants/relics/etc...)
Now, each 'Green' level prize can be won upto 4 times each, each 'silver' prize can be won twice, and only a single copy of the 'gold' prize per wheel...
There is also the "Refresh" button exists here, and can be used by anyone to 'reset' the prize wheel with a new set of randomly selected prizes. (ie: 'gold' level prizes are generated from a pool of roughly 10-12 or so choices)
So you compete against your neighbours on the same wheel, and the idea is to wait until an opening presents itself for you to swoop in and spin for the desired gold/silver prizes once some (foolish!) 'hoodies have cleared out a bunch of the junk. (hey, it's a pirate themed event - what do you want, kindness?!)

5. Carnival = mix of 'traditional' Elvenar 3 chest system + neighbourhood mechanic for gathering actual event currency
Again, don't fear this one, as it won't ever translate unless the devs re-design the entire world map/neighbours system... but suffice it to say, few FoE players enjoy this event, and this past year it earned a spectacular amount of hate! (like, worse than Fall Bears event levels of hate!)

6. Winter/Xmas = NOW YOU CAN SHARE IN OUR BITTERNESS AND MISERY!
Yeah, suffice to say, this event is equally hated on in FoE just as much as it is here.:p
The only big difference right now is at least in the 'original' FoE version, each completed quest = 1 chest worth of event currency, AND, you get a 'free' daily log-in currency pack that also pays for 1 chest.
(so between the sequential + daily quest lines + daily log in, it's possible to average 3 and a bit chests per day, vs. our current debacle of, "hope you don't want any daily prize until maybe 7-8 days into the event!")

So there, that's what we might likely see going forwards, as it seems the dev teams are continuing to merge most aspects of each game together. :)

While plenty have said this not everyone will agree, I for one don't. Much prefer T2 to T4, if they made it T4 it would be super simple to ignore the event though ;) as this building is the only possible reason to do it. Also was your suggestion keeping or removing the KP instants?

It gives what, a 3kp instant every day?
It's so nearly insignificant I'd completely forgotten it even existed!lol:p

My bad, but then, FoE grand prizes/cultural settlement this past year have been handing out 6-12kp/day, so I guess I'm used to being spoiled?!

In fact, I think that the Elvenar devs should be looking at adding in more prizes that give us;
- 1-2x 5kp instant/24hrs
- 1-2x CC's
- Some combo of 2 units between Dryads/Rangers/Banshees/Blossom Mages
- Atk bonus for units!!
- Def% bonus for all units!!

But really, the things I value most myself are desperately military bonuses, since we have far too many demands on troops vs. basic production capabilities now, especially for anyone who's still pre-Sorcs chapter!
ie: between Ch1-9 the only AW options are Sanctuary, (who's bonus is crap nowadays), Needles, Bulwark, Shrooms, Forge & Flying Academy... AND, those last 3 are only unlocked after finishing Ch's 8 & 9! >.<

Giving us some small'ish buildings with some perma boosts to def% especially would be quite welcome, since just the Spire of Eternal Misery alone is easily capable of slaughtering 2-3 months worth of production within a couple weeks.
