It happened to a me.

I currently have 329 on 37 pages. Perhaps you're neighbours went up at the same time your fellowship went down?
No, the fellowship has been full for some time. Perhaps I am mistaken. I will have to check more closely the next time a province is added.

What I have noticed is that the same neighbour - we'll call him Mr. H. - has remained in the same place at the end of the list of neighbours (right before the fellowship portion begins) for quite some time. Since the new provinces would be added at the end of the list I would have thought his position would have changed by now. So I assumed that the list is not growing - this is the first time I've actually counted the number of folks in the list.

I would expect the neighbors to appear in an order defined by the position on the map and not by the order you scouted them, but I don't know.
But if your last neighbor is one ring further out from your city than your new neighbors then I expect your old neighbor to stay at the end.

Yes, that's it exactly. I realized last night after I posted that the fact that Mr. H. is still in the last position does not preclude other neighbours within the same ring backfilling missing slots as more provinces are scouted. I'm pretty sure that last ring is not full yet.

In any event I will take exact note of the count and look for changes when the current scout is completed. Its just not something I had thought about before.

@David Dragonsage something else that may affect your number of neighbors in the list is if a player is replaced with a coin city or a coin city is replaced with a player as I don't think the list includes coin cities?

Yes, that makes sense. I think I'm fortunate that I've never seen a coin city in the neighbourhood. The neighbourhood seems to be a destination and the server is auto-moving folks that are not playing and replacing them with new people or more active players. Thank you for your help!

@The Fairy - I just finished scouting a province during the night and there has been no change in the number of neighbours, they still total 300, not counting the fellowship. Curious!

---quin goes to a corner and sobs softly.

And I know I don't have near as many coin mines as others who have posted here, but still!
That does sound depressing! Can you ask Support to have yourself moved?

@The Fairy - I contacted support and they replied that the number of neighbours depends on completed provinces, not on scouted ones. That's not clear from the official Wiki but its good to know.

Tonight's Event quest is basically asking that I complete a province, so I will soon put this to the test.

So I just completed a province but the number of neighbours did not change. I will update this thread when Support resolves this issue.

I send out a massive formation of 950 squads of Ax Barbarians to sack the city of the ungrateful wench! In a wedge formation. On each flank, the Barbarians are followed by 600 squads of Priests. Each of these Priest formations is escorted by 400 squads of Orc Strats. Just in case any pesky light melee or light range appear. And there is a reserve formation of 500 Paladins to lead the initial charge through the city gates of the ingrate!

Wait, Elvenar is not that kind of game? I can't send out my massive armies to utterly destroy their city? The absolute worst thing I can do to them is ignore them? Boy, they sure are lucky...

It's also certainly against the spirit of Forum rule #4

Wow, my sentences should make complete. Understand, my saying is exactly what I intend and your sure their going to be red by players and read again by me - before posting? Where's the fun in that? Stream of coincidence and all that jazz, I say.

I didn't know before, but out of curiosity I just counted up and I see that I have 300 neighbours in the list (not counting the fellowship). I give all of them help every day, half in the morning and half in the late afternoon. There is no way I would attempt to omit any person, it would just be too awkward. I try to accommodate help preferences, but I always make some errors.

On the receiving side, the system works perfectly for me. My listed preferences are BH/MH. But there are enough folks who are giving cultural help that the sun continues to shine on my city. If everyone actually conformed to the preferences I would actually have a cultural deficit.

Just curious, is 300 neighbours the maximum that will show in the list? I continue to add provinces but the page count of neighbours (36 pages including the fellowship) does not seem to increase.
I have 338 not including fellowship members. They show up on the neighbors tab when I'm in World view. I've never counted whether they're all there in the notifications, however.

Oh Wise One
I can only shake my head for so long before I can't continue reading 4 pages of back & forth. I just looked. I have 733 provinces and 39 pages of possible visits. I'm not sure how long it would take me to read every single name of city on those 39 pages but I can assure anybody that I will never do that. I honestly almost never have any need to visit except for my FS because it is more time consuming than I want to put into it. I have drifted away from doing world visits. That is actually contrary to my own advice to other smaller cities. I know I was getting enough excess coin every day to buy several extra KP. Maybe I should get back to doing it but not a chance I will change enough to read all those city names with specific preferences. I do want to point out that many, many times I have said and seen others say that we should appreciate any visits we get. They are all a little something that is helpful.
